Hi, I’m Emily. Thanks for stopping by.
I’m a Design Researcher and Strategist at The Lab at OPM, where I collaborate with federal agencies to reimagine and improve services and programs for the public.
My design career began in marketing and communications, crafting impact-driven campaigns for Fortune 500 companies. Seeking a public sector focus, I combined content strategy with co-design at the University of Chicago’s Ci3 Design Thinking Lab where I used participatory and equity-focused methods to develop a platform offering of digital and analog products aimed at advancing adolescent sexual and reproductive healthcare models.
I thrive in complex, bureaucratic spaces, navigating competing priorities and perspectives. I also have a range of experience moving across design phases and adapted methods for the context, bringing a flexible, strategic, and collaborative approach to every project. I’ve been described by colleagues as a “swiss army knife”.
